After Madurai in Thamizh, Thirunelveli in Samy and Nagercoil in Kovil, director Hari has his Aaru, featuring Surya, revolving around Chennai.

Hari, who has completed shooting a song sequence in Jordan for the movie, being produced by Charan, says, 'the entire movie revolves around Chennai. For the purpose, we have erected a huge slum set up at a huge cost near Saidapet and all credit should go to producer Charan and art-director Kathir'.

Kathir has come up with a huge set, which houses several hutments, a mini subway and a few shops in this small ground.

Satisfied with his work, Kathir says, 'I visited several slums before erecting the sets. Watched them at very close quarters and tried to replicate them here. Everyone including the entire cast and crew were stunned at the reality of the sets.'

A major portion of the movie is being shot in this artificial slum.
