Soon after the movie was launched recently, a prominent politicial organization raised a controversy over the story of the movie and finally the matter ended with the actor himself proffering an explanation.

Now when the cast and crew had been to Sri Lanka to shoot the film recently, Sarath was in for a shock. Debutant director Balaji, who had made a good job of impressing him with the story narration, had reportedly had no idea about camera angles.

The Thalaimagan unit reportedly returned with the same haste and is at present looking for a director. The popular choice seems to be Venkatesh. The director had worked with Sarath Kumar in movies like Maha Prabhu , Hey and Chanakya before and these films too had a decent run at the box-office.
