After playing the heroine in Tamil and Telugu movies, actress Sangeetha has now graduated to play the aunt's role in her forthcoming Tamil film.

A sought-after heroine once in Tollywood, Sangeetha made her comeback in Tamil with Pithamagan.

Though the movie clicked, she did not have many offers coming her way.

Now she has accepted to play Srikanth's aunt in a Tamil movie titled Uyir.

Asked why she has switched over to play aunt's roles, Sangeetha says, 'it was a conscious decision. I still have heroine offers coming my way in Telugu film industry. But I took a bold decision to act in Uyir.'

'When I was narrated the role, I was impressed with it. It would certainly win me accolades for it gives me enough avenues to expose my acting talents. I have proved my skills as an actress who can perform both character and glamour roles and Uyir would take me to greater heights'.

But Sangeetha has to make one move to fit into the role. ‘I have to reduce my weight for playing the role which I feel is one of the toughest I have ever performed'.
