I am confident that Kokki will propel me to greater heights in Tamil cinema, says actor Karan, who is playing the lead role in the movie.

Directed by Prabhu Solomon, who also in charge of story, dialogue and screenplay for Kokki, the movie features a Bengali lass Sanjana as the heroine.

Speaking about the film, Solomon says, ‘The film captures the events that happen in the life of a man, in a week. Kokki, (named after the village deity Kokkisamy) lands in the city where he meets a girl, lover eventually, in the hostel. It has a powerful screenplay that offers acting scope for every artiste’.

A couple of songs set to tunes by Dhina were shot in Jaisalmer. ‘We shot in difficult conditions for nearly 15 days as the weather was very cold,’ adds Solomon.

The cast includes Kota Srinivasa Rao and Malaysia Vasudevan.
