Simran, who bid bye to acting after New, re-emerged in Chennai only to take a jump into politics. She made a whirlwind tour all around the State and sought votes vigorously for AIADMK and its supreme J Jayalalitha.

In spite of her best efforts, Jayalalithaa was drubbed in the polls and the DMK led by M Karunanidhi has assumed power.

As expected Simran has returned to Delhi.

However rumours were still flowing thick and fast of the actress eyeing a comeback in filmdom. When everyone tipped her to do a Tamil movie again, the actress has chosen to make a comeback in Tollywood.

Dr Rajasekhar has roped in Simran opposite him for the Telugu remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Lion.

The movie would go to floors on 19 May with several bigwigs of the industry taking part.

Let's hope she succeeds in her new venture.
