Srikanth's Uyir, has opened well at several places where it was screened. The decent beginning for Uyir has emboldened the producers of Sathurangam starring Srikanth to try for its release.

Karu Palaniappan directed Sathurangam starring Srikanth and Sonia Agarwal.

Though the movie has been completed, financial constraints to the producers prevented the movie's release.

When queried about the movie's release, a vexed Srikanth said, 'On my part, I took all efforts to help release the movie. I had even cut down on my salary. I wonder why it is still lying in cans'.

He adds, 'It is a racy entertainer and if released would certainly do well. Karu Palaniappan has given new dimension to my role. It has indeed come good'.
