Kushboo sticks to her guns

Kushboo is always made of sterner stuff.

Despite the rising protests against her casting in Periyar, the intrepid actress has asserted that she would play the role of Maniammai, wife of Periyar, come that way.

Kushboo, in an interview to a Tamil weekly, has pooh-poohed the attempts of the protesters and said that she has done lot of home work for the role.

‘I have read a lot on Maniammai’s life and have worked out the details. I don’t want to go back on it,’ she has said.

Kushboo has also said that she is something of an atheist herself and is just the right person to play the role of Periyar’s wife.
