Jayam Ravi's Deepavali is not releasing this Pongal. The movie directed by Ezhil and produced by director Lingusamy was initially slated to grace theatres on Pongal. With many film releases expected this January, the producer has now opted to defer the release by a month.

According to Ezhil, “We have completed shooting the talkie portions and a couple of songs. Shooting for the movie was a pleasant experience. A stunt sequence was shot at Bangalore Highway and it was choreographed by Kanal Kannan. It has come out really well. Also the huge set which we erected near the Royapuram shore for the movie would be a real highlight.”

The movie has five songs penned by Na Muthukumar, Kabilan and Yuga Bharathy. Composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, all the songs have come out really well.

Apart from Jayam Ravi and Bhavana, Malayalam actor Lal and Vijayakumar portray powerful roles in the movie.

“It is a movie which would be cherished by film buffs irrespective of the age group,” says a confident Ezhil.
