Politician - turned actor Thol Thirumavalavan's maiden venture on screen Anbu Thozhi has run into trouble. The regional censor board has denied granting permission for the film.

The movie features Thirumavalavan in the role of a rebel, championing the cause of Tamils. The officials at the Censor Board denied certifying the film contending that the scenes in the film glorify the LTTE leader Prabhakaran.

Reports suggest that the story is loosely based on the life of the banned outfit's leader.

The makers of Anbu Thozhi have now decided to approach the Arbitration Committee.
