Kalanjiyam Trust has come out with a novel audio album containing narrative stories for children titled 'Papparamittai'. The unique idea is that those narrating the various stories are not adults but children themselves.

The album was released on 22.3.2008 at Vani Mahal in T. Nagar, Chennai by actor Dhanush and music director G.V. Prakash Kumar received the first copy.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhanush lamented the lack of quality time the grandparents are devoting to their grandchildren. He said that at a time when even the parents are finding it increasing difficult to spend more time with their kids, the album couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time. Soon after reaching his house, he added, that he would be playing the CD to his son so that he could listen to the stories so nicely told in the album.

Prakash Kumar appreciated the idea of children narrating to their contemporaries and said the music that accompanies the narration would serve as fodder to increase the creativity and imagination in children.

Munusamy Raviraj, chief of ‘Kalanjiyam’, said that he got this idea when he saw some children in the neighbourhood narrating tales to kids younger than themselves and the way the latter responded. He said that it was befitting that such a novel album was released and accepted by Dhanush and Prakash Kumar, who have made a name for themselves in the entertainment industry at a relatively young age, setting an example for children to follow.
