'Silanthi', getting ready for an end-March or early-April release, is all set to enthrall the audience with a thriller laced with intimate romance. The shooting has just been completed and the re-recording and the editing work are going on a rapid speed in R.K.V. Studios.

The film is produced by Coimbatore based film distributor P. Sankar and is directed by a newcomer Aadhi, who has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogues. Aadhi is a former journalist.

Monica, who played a teenager in 'Azhagi' and another miniscule role in ’Imsai Arasan..’, has finally got the big break she had been waiting for. She plays a full-fledged heroine’s role and gets to display her histrionics.

The actor has worked with a lot of dedication in the movie. The climax, which was shot for 12 hours in and around a swimming pool, required Monica to act panicky, trip over and running along the pool. Despite the chilly water of January, Monica didn’t complain and completed the shooting with no re-takes.

Though the movie is a thriller, it also has its share of passionate romantic moments. A scene featuring Munna and Monica is note worthy. The intimate scene has been filmed tastefully without any trace of vulgarity. The scene lasts for five minutes but surprisingly there is no song in the background. All that you could is a medley of mesmerising instrumental music.

Reshma, who also plays an important role, gets cosy with hero Abhay and even shares an intimate kissing scene with the latter.

The smart looking Riyaz Khan gets to play an important role that has many shades of emotion.

The film promises to be a visual treat with ninety per cent of the film has been shot in picturesque locations in Pondicherry. The unit has discovered many hitherto unknown beautiful locations in Pondicherry. Cinematographer Bowsia Fatima has captured in a pulsating manner the mesmerizing beauty of this sea-soaked city. Editor S. Satish Kurosova, who has worked with the likes of Mani Ratnam, Rajiv Menon and Thangar Bachchan, is giving excellent finishing touches to the movie.

'Silanthi' promises to be a romantic thriller with a visual treat.
