There is an ongoing rivalry between Vadivel and Vivek and the former has replaced the latter in Susi Ganesan's most recent endeavor titled 'Kanthaswamy'. In ’Kanthaswamy" a comedy follow-up between Vikram and Vadivel will be considered a rage. Vivek earlier replaced Vadivel as the comedian in 'Padikathavan'.

The rivalry between these comedians from Madurai is continuing and they are continuously trying to excel one another!

In his career, Vivek has won 5 Filmfare Best Comedian Awards for his roles in 'Khushi', 'Minnale', 'Run', 'Perazhagan', and 'Sivaji' respectively. In January 2009, Vivek was honoured with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India for his contribution to the arts.
