Now it is the celebration for 25 days run of the films in Kannada filmdom. The recession, flop of scores of films, IPL in the last one and half months, Elections put down the collections of films in the theatres. Despite of such onslaught the two shoe string budget Kannada films ‘Auto’ and ‘Eshtu Nagthi Nagu’ completed 25 days of screening with around 10 prints each in Karnataka and yet to get the returns.

‘Auto’ a film by Rajasthani Mahendra Munoth a medical shop owner in Vijayanagar is a message filled film with good tunes in it. Getting back money is not the only intention of mine in making ‘Auto’. I wanted the good message to spread he says with confidence it would come back slowly. Munoth a social servant too has played the similar role on screen in his first production. Sathya and Roshani are the lead actors of this debutant director Mallikarjuna Muthalgeri.

Nearly 10 lakh people have watched the stage play ‘Eshtu Nagthi Nagu’ mainly in Northern Karnataka and the same converted as a feature film by producer Srikantesh and director Madhukesh has given a very average response. With difficulty the film has crossed 25 days. Director Madhukesh feels it is easy to produce a cinema but it is difficult to market the cinema and see the safety of it. The theatre rents are high for meager budget films and secondly the theatres are not allowing the films to remain for a few weeks despite of paying rent are the worrying factors.
