The Madras High Court has restrained Kamal Haasan and Pyramid Saimira Production International Limited from making statements relating to an agreement for producing the film 'Marmayogi'.

Justice G Rajasuria passed the order on an application by Kamal Haasan and Raaj Kamal Films International, represented by its partner, S. Chandra Haasan, seeking to restrain Pyramid Saimira Production International Limited, from making any statement relating to the contract dated April 2, 2008.

In the affidavit, Kamal said the false accusations made against him by Pyramid Saimira were given wide publicity. Only after he explained the true facts, did the public understand the "falsity of the allegation and the depth of meanness" on the part of the entertainment company's directors.

"The evil intention behind this smear campaign in an attempt to tarnish my image is to spoil the chances of success of my new picture, Unnaipol Oruvan," he said and added: "If the company continued with its tirade, making all kinds of baseless and false allegations against me, I would be put to great hardship."

Hence, the actor prayed the Court to restrain the defendants from making any statement relating to the MoU without prior permission of the court.
