As the title ‘Rettaisuzhi’ has already been registered by a different production company, the Shankar’s production venture which is being made under the same name has gone for a change.

According to sources, the film which has ace directors K Balachandar and Bharathiraja in lead roles would henceforth be called as ‘Imayamum Sigaramum Irattisuzhi’, signifying the sobriquets of the filmmakers.

Meanwhile, circles close to Thamira, the director of the movie, have denied reports that the film was unable to make it to the Dubai film festival thanks to problems over its title. “There were no problems over the film’s name. Because, ‘Imayamum Sigaramum Irattaisuzhi’ was the title we planned from the beginning,” they said.

Claiming that the shoot of the movie was over, sources said producer Shankar and director Thamira were planning to release the movie in January 2010, however after Pongal. “Some post production works are pending,” they said.

With Bharathiraja playing Comrade Singaravelu, a Communist, and Balachandar a bigwig in a village, ‘Imayamum Sigaramum Irattisuzhi’ also has ‘Kattradhu Thamizh’ Anjali in an important role.
