The urge to serve the society runs in the veins of Sivakumar’s family, so to say. While the veteran actor is known for extending financial aid for deserving students, his elder son Suriya is part of many social welfare projects.

And now, Karthi is the latest entrant from the family to work for a cause. The actor recently lent support for a short film, which is made for ‘Hero’ project, an initiative to help transgenders to get their rights.

“The organisers of Hero project had approached me and asked me to represent for the cause. I was too glad to be part of the project and immediately agreed to endorse it”, Karthi says with a warm smile.

On the acting front, he is getting ready for ‘Siruthai’, a remake of Telugu blockbuster ‘Vikramarkudu’. “It’s going to be a mass film. Comedian Santhanam is on board and I must say that I share a better chemistry with him than with all my heroines,” Karthi says.
