A gang on Tuesday afternoon attacked the crew members of ÂThambi Vettothi SundaramÂ, including the filmÂs director V C Vadivudaiyan, when they were shooting the last schedule at Mangalam near Kulasekaram.
The gang members also tried to attack heroine of the film Anjali. However, the actress managed to escape from them and took refugee in a nearby house. ÂIt was a scary experienceÂ, she said.
According to eyewitnesses, the gang entered the shooting spot and threatened the director for Âmaking a film which would bring disrepute to Kanyakumari districtÂ. Refusing to pay heed to an explanation by the filmmaker, they attacked him and other members of the crew.
With Karan playing the hero, ÂThambi Vettothi Sundaram is based on a real story that happened in the Tamil Nadu-Kerala borders a few decades ago. The movie is produced by J Senthil Kumar under the banner JS 24 Frames.
