Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa today spoke to Superstar Rajinikanth's wife Latha and enquired about the health condition of the actor, who was being treated at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre at Porur.

According to an official press release, Jayalalithaa spoke to Latha over phone and enquired about the actor's health condition. Latha explained to the Chief Minister in detail, the nature of treatment being given to him.

Jayalalithaa told Latha that she was praying to the Almighty for the speedy recovery of the actor, who was admitted to the hospital since May 13 for respiratory and gastro-intestinal problems.

The release also added that soon after the AIADMK emerged triumphant in the Assembly elections, Rajinikanth had sent a letter to Jayalalithaa greeting her for her party's massive victory in the elections.

Following this, Jayalalitha had sent a reply letter to the actor thanking him for greeting her and wishing him speedy recovery, the release added.
