Trade sources reveal that ‘Mayakkam Enna’ that released on November 25 is still running to packed houses, not just in urban centers but all over! The film is seeing a good showing at the BO even two weeks after its release date, which is quite rare in recent times.

The film that belongs to a genre of its own is about Karthick Subramaniam, an aspiring journalist who dreams of becoming big but is ordinary in every manner and does small assignments that have to no relevance to his career, all for a survival. As Selvaraghavan rightly said in an interview, ME is not a love story, it’s about a photographer and his journey, with a good dosage of light and heavy moments.

None but Dhanush could have carried such a role and with such ease that you look at him throughout as the character and not as a hero. He proves yet again why he deserves the coveted National Award through his performance in this film.

Richa Gangopadhyay who debuted in Tamil cinema through this film, we must say, has pared up to Dhanush’s acting and has made her screen presence felt in every scene. This offering from Selvaraghavan, is in many ways different from his earlier films but has his signature stamped in strongly throughout. GV Prakash’s music has stood as a backbone to the scripting.

With a good number of pluses, this movie is still one of those flicks to be on your watch list and the trade gurus’ verdict stand testimony to it!
