It all started with 'Arai En 305il Kadavul', which marked the transformation of Santhanam from comedian to hero. The actor, who is now playing the lead role in 'Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya', is set to do another project as its protagonist.

Santhanam will reprise the role made memorable by Y Gee Mahendra in 'Paritchaikku Neramaachu', as the film is set to be remade. While Mahendra will do the character played by thespian Sivaji Ganesan.

Originally a drama written by 'Vietnam Veedu Sundaram', 'Paritchaikku Neramachu' was made as a film more than three decades ago, and it won the appreciation of one and all.

Says Santhanam, "The idea to remake Paritchaikku Nermachu struck us when I went to watch Mahendra's drama recently. Discussions are on."
