Sarath Kumar denied reports of his rift with Vijaykanth.

He said that both of them as office bearers of Nadigar Sangham took decision only after mutual consultations. He said that both of them loved Tamil cinema and so the goal was the same.

Sarath wanted the State Govt to bring in a law by which video pirates were given seven-year sentence.

Speaking about Ayya he said that long time back Hari had narrated the subject to him even before he turned director. Later when Hari turned director he might have told the subject to Rajnikant.`What is wrong in doing this film?’ asked Sarath.

He was doing a dual role in the film as father and son. All films, which had him in dual role starting from Nattamai, were hits. `Usually the son listens to father’s advise but here the father goes by what the son says. The basic theme of the film is that though we have developed in many ways the lifestyle of the villagers and the love for our soil is still intact’ revealed Sarath.

Lakshmi plays pair to father Sarath and Nayantara is pair to younger Sarath. Napoleon- Rohini- Prakashraj are the other artistes and Kavithalaya is producing the film.
