P Vasu is brimming with confidence these days.

Why would he not? After being in obscurity for several years and a sequence of no-brainer movies, Vasu is now in the thick of it. The director, wielding the megaphone for Chandramukhi, says "it would be a major milestone in his career.Audience will see Rajnikanth and Prabhu in refreshing roles".

Stating that it would not be a straight remake of Malayalam hit Manichitrathazhu, Vasu says, "Rajini's character is called Saravana and he plays a psychiatrist. Prabhu too has an important role which is totally different from what he has acted so far". Jothika is playing his ladylove. Simran, who is in the family way, has opted out of the film after shooting for three days.

"A jolly feel good film with Vadivelu playing the comedian along with Rajni at his humourous best is Chandramukhi", Vasu says with his eyes lighting up. A huge star cast including Malayalam actress Nayanathara, Malavika, Nasser, Kota Srinivasa Rao are also in the film.

Vasu says Simran was not thrown out of the film as the media has been saying. "It was an amicable parting of ways".
