Sivakarthikeyan's career has been on a steady upward trend and he has been choosing movies with care. When director Ponram of 'Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam' fame approached the actor, he could not say no to the compelling story. And hence was signed 'Rajini Murugan' for Sivakarthikeyan. After all the planning has been put in place, the crew is set to start rolling the camera starting October 30th.

The cast crew containing Sivakarthikeyan, Soori, Rajkiran and others will be part of the first schedule, which is expected to run for 40 days in Karaikudi. The shooting will take place at a traditional Karaikudi style house which has been rented for this purpose. Following the forty days, second schedule of 25 days will be in Madurai, after completion of which, the team will return again to Karaikudi to wrap up all shooting. The film has music by Imman, and going by the feed so far, 'Rajini Murugan' will be a rural subject with generous light moments.
