It has been a recent trend in Tamil Nadu to release big budget/big star flicks much earlier than the scheduled theatre timings. Despite screens getting allotted for special shows and early morning shows, theatre-owners have begun screening movies at midnight time.

In recent times, Vijay's 'Jilla' and Ajith's Veeram clashed at the same time at 3AM in the early morning here in Chennai. Likewise, Vijay's next, 'Kaththi' too premiered in front of fans at said early timings. Next in line was the big gun, Rajinikanth's much-awaited 'Lingaa'. The film premiered on December 12 in front of fans as early as midnight 12:30AM in Chennai screens Saidai Raj and Kasi Theatres. The recently released meg-budget blockbuster Shankar's 'I' too released as early as 4:30AM at some screens.

Now, with just couple more days to Ajith's 'Yennai Arindhaal' getting released, fans have been eagerly anticipating news on early morning special screenings and show timings. However, there's some bad news for fans who have been awaiting the movie releasing on February 5. It seems like the movie will not be releasing at midnight as was being anticipated. After a bomb threat letter was sent to few theatres here in the city, the Chennai Police has asked the theatre-owners not to screen the midnight shows. As a result, the first show(s) for 'Yennai Arindhaal' will begin screening at early morning 5AM.
