STR has admitted openly that he had lost films, love and money in the last two years. He said this at the audio launch of his good friend Santhanam's 'Inimey Ippadithaan'.

"Not even a single film of mine got released in the past couple of years. People say that I`ve became spiritual, What`s wrong, as I am running behind God and not girls".

"Normally I used to give my salary to mother, but she is now funding my expenses," Simbu said, adding: "I loved a girl, she is gone now,"

STR further said that when he was undergoing a rough patch, Gautham Vasudev Menon asked him to be part of 'Achcham Enbadhu Madamaiyada' and he readily agreed.

"But when Gautham told me about Thala Ajith`s 'Yennai Arindhaal', I asked him to go ahead with it. My father (T Rajendhar) was upset with my decision. But Ajith sir told him 'Don`t worry, your son will definitely reach great heights'."

Simbu also said his father had acquired the rights of 'Vaalu' and would release it on an appropriate date.
