Well, Kamal Haasan is different. So if other actors feel like they're working in their first film every time they start a project, Kamal Haasan sees every new film as his last film!

"People say you should approach every film as your first film, but I put in the effort as if it were my last film!" Kamal Haasan said at the launch of his new film "Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu".

Kamal Haasan had to go through some anxious moments while making his bilingual "Mumbai Express" but that did not deter the actor, who is passionate about films, from starting work on his next project soon after.

In fact, his next release was announced even before "Mumbai Express" hit the theatres.

Opposed to the fact that he had problems with self-proclaimed lovers of the Tamil language, his latest venture has a purely Tamil name "Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu", roughly translated as 'Hunt and Play'.

The director-writer of the film is Gowtham Menon who shot to fame with his fast-paced thriller "Kaakha Kaakha", starring Surya and Jyothika. It was one of the much-talked-about and successful Tamil films.

Gowtham Menon could very well be the youngest person to direct Kamal Haasan.

Menon was a tenth standard school kid when he watched Kamal's "Nayakan". From that day on it was his dream to make a film with Kamal Haasan.

The young director's dream came true when a friend working with Vijay TV introduced him to the actor. After the introduction, Menon told him about his desire. Kamal Haasan was open to the idea as he had seen and liked "Kaakha Kaakha", but insisted on seeing a bound script.

It took six months for the young director to come up with a plot that could excite Kamal Haasan.

While 'Kaakha Kaakha' had lots of songs and love, "VV" is an action film and at the same time a very serious one - it is about the hunt for a killer, and Kamal Haasan plays a cop.

The story starts with the hunt for the killer. The cop played by Kamal Haasan is not somebody who hunts under pressure. He is somebody who hunts and plays with the hunt. How he handles it all in style is the idea of the film.

Jyothika, who acted in "Kaakha Kaakha", plays the cop's love interest. Harris Jayaraj, who bowled everyone over with his music in "Kaakha Kaakha", scores the music for this film too.
