Vijayakanth is a happy man these days as he has realized his mission of establishing himself firmly in politics.

His newly floated political party DMDK had put up a impressive show in elections garnering over 25 lakh votes. He got himself elected from Vridhachalam to the State Assembly.

Meanwhile, the chips are up on the film front too.

The joyous Captain is going to start a film titled Murasu (interestingly Murasu happens to be his party symbol) scripted and directed by Perarasu.

The movie would be produced by AM Ratnam for his Sri Surya Movies. The shooting for the film will start on July 1 in Chennai and will be Vijaykanth's Diwali release.

Expectations are already high among Vijayakanth fans on his next movie. It may be recalled that Perarasu had initially penned Murasu for Vijay, which the latter declined.
