Sarath Kumar’s career has taken a new direction --- he has taken to direction, that is. Yes, he would be wielding the megaphone for his 100th film Thalaimagan in which he plays a scribe.

Addressing press persons at his residence in Chennai on Friday, Sarath Kumar said, 'It is unfortunate that the film’s original director Balaji had pulled out of the project. In the context, I have decided to direct the same. Thalaimagan has been shaping very well,’ he added.

He further said, ‘It looks certain that I would be elected unopposed as the president of the Nadigar Sangam and on being elected my first priority would be to come up with a building for the association.’

Sarath Kumar is also planning to constitute a committee comprising popular actors and actresses from Kollywood who would tour various parts of the State and hold stage plays to create awareness on various issues among the masses.

Condemning the Mumbai blasts that claimed several lives, Sarath said, the time has come for all of us to live together and thwart the destructive forces.
