Director Vikraman has expressed optimism that Chennai Kadhal would attract young audience.

Speaking to media persons in Chennai on Saturday, Vikraman, said, "All my earlier movies had soft themes with emotions interlaced all over. In Chennai Kadhal, I have come out with a romantic entertainer in a youthful package. With a young crew to assist me, I believe the product has come out well."

Chennai Kadhal is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and features Bharath and Genelia in lead roles.

Adding further, Vikraman said, "I have shot a couple of songs abroad. Shooting in foreign locales was economical and time saving than canning the movie in Tamil Nadu!"

Vikraman also chose to thank Thanu for giving him an opportunity to direct a movie for him.

Bharath's Chennai Kadhal and Veyyil (produced by Shankar's S Films) are releasing on the same day.

Thanu said that he spoke to the Producers Council and informed them of his decision to release the movie on 8 December, well in advance.
