Vishal is shooting for Malaikottai in Tiruchi. The dark, tall and handsome hero is bitten by the Rajni bug.

An avid Rajnikanth fan, Vishal plays a Rajnikanth fanatic in the movie too. Few scenes involving Vishal breaking coconut to Rajnikanth's posters were shot recently.

Malaikottai is directed by Boopathy Pandian, who is fresh from the success of Thiruvilayadal Arambham. Priyamani plays Vishal's heroine in the movie.

Boopathy Pandian says, “Ashish Vidyarthi and Kannada actor Devaraj are the 'bad elements' in the movie. Important roles are earmarked for Mayilsamy, Manobala and Dhandapani”.

Mani Sharma's musical score, in tune with the script, could well turn out to be the movie's highlight. Stunts are by Kanal Kannan and cinematography by Vaithi is the other major highlights.
