Following Aravind Krishna's exit, Yuvan Shankar Raja too has parted ways with director Selvaraghavan. Selva, Aravind and Yuvan - the successful and enviable trio of Kollywood - are now separated.

Kollywood was shocked when ace director Selvaraghavan replaced his favourite music director Yuvan Shankar Raja with G.V Prakashkumar for his upcoming movie 'Aayirathil Oruvan' starring 'Paruthi Veeran' Karthi and Reema Sen.

It is said that Selva has discarded two songs composed by Yuvan for 'Aayirathil Oruvan'. It is also said that the songs have even been shot.

It is a well known fact that the chemistry between a director and his chosen music director is pivotal to the fortunes of a movie. We have seen many such combinations including Bharathiraja - Ilayaraja, A.R Rahman - Mani Ratnam, A.R Rahman - Shankar, and Gautham Menon - Harris Jayaraj. Selva and Yuvan emerged as one such magical pair. The two, besides being a successful pair in business, were also close pals.

There are many rumours making rounds in Kollywood speculating various reasons. Whatever be the reason, it is regrettable for the industry that a famous and successful friendship in Kollywood has ceased to exist. It may be recalled that the three were so closely associated that they started a film company called 'White Elephant'. Ironically, the friendship has proved to be the proverbial white elephant!
