'Its time for youngsters and students to enter and shine in the field of arts. But it is also important that you earn your degree,' said Kamal Hassan.

Speaking at the inauguration of 'Milan 2009', an inter-college cultural fest at SRM University in Chennai, Kamal Haasan said, "A cultural festival provides the apt stage to bring out the artist in the students. Educated youth should enter the field of arts to bring in a change."

He further said, "I am considered as a student of cinema but in reality I am a high school dropout. Despite the lag, I never stopped learning."

T R Pachamuthu, chancellor of SRM University, said that the university is going to start a film institute with the help of actor Kamal Hassan.

'Kamal is willing to associate with the film institute and discussions are going on to make it in a non-traditional way'.
