It really is the season for Tamil films to spread their wings and create flutter across the world. Joining the line of ‘Achchamundu! Achchamundu’ and ‘Kanchivaram’, director Krishnan Seshadri Gomatam’s debut directorial venture, ‘M3V’ or ‘Mudal Mudhal Mudhal Varai’, has won the 'The Best International Feature film (Drama)' Award, at the prestigious 'New York International Independent Film & Video Festival' held in New York. As you may be aware ‘M3V’ was earlier selected for the Indian Panorama.

An assistant to PC Sreeram and Maniratnam, Krishnan is a known name in the ad film world. His movie, M3V, was a collage of many first time experiences that culminate into a film. It’s ending, based on a real life story of a person suffering Obsessive Compulsive Disorder was widely appreciated even during its short run in theatres.

At the New York Festival, however, ‘M3V’ battled it out of 30 countries and 200 films to make it to this top slot. Playing the protagonists were Sathyajit, ace automobile photographer, and Anuya Iyer. Music was by Aslam Mustafa while Fowzia Fathima was the cinematographer.
