Every time when the film buff thinks the industry is being pulled into mediocricity with run-of-the-mill storylines, a silver lining comes from a highly unexpected film. That film in the next few months is expected to be ‘Pugaippadam’, which is about an imaginary land of friends and platonic relationships.

With stern rules over titling films in Kollywood with Tamil words, things have turned to be more interesting. With some of the filmmakers grabbing the yesteryear titles, there are few filmmakers who come with grippingly novel titles. Of course, ‘Pugaippadam’ falls under this category where you’ll notice the best touch of creative theme.

The film is being directed by Rajesh Lingam, one of Selva Raghavan’s assistants. Its audio launch, held recently, had a huge turnout, with Bhagiyaraj launching the audio cassette, and director Mahendran receiving the first copy. Gangai Amaren makes a comeback as the music composer of the film.

“I am on this stage as a director today because of my friends. My development and growth is because of them so I wanted to do a film on friendship and that is how 'Pugaippadam' was created.” said the young Director Rajeshlingam with much delight.

“I would like to dedicate this film to friends and friendship, as they have been his backbone and strength.” He added. The flick, featuring new comers, is expected to be released next month.
