It’s destination dense jungle for Prabhu Solomon, the filmmaker who made a mark with movies like ‘Kokki’, ‘Lee’ and ‘Laadam’. For he is ready for his next venture titled ‘Maina’, a love story set in the backdrop of a forest.

Says the director, who is all set to pack his bags and go to the jungles near Periyakulam, “It is the story of a jeep driver living in the hill terrain and a young girl.

The crew and the cast will camp at the high altitudes between Periyakulam and Idukki, where no film has been shot before.” Aware of the risk he is taking, Solomon says, “We know it is no easy task. But we have taken it as a challenge. The locations we have spotted have no modern facilities. We would be having only a handful of tribals and wild animals for company.”

Throwing more light on the location, he says, “I was totally taken in by a particular place in the forest we found after a lot of exploration. It was almost like the ones we saw in Hollywood films like Braveheart.” “Since we would be shooting in the rainy season, special rainproof covering has been stitched for our equipments including camera,” he says.

Newcomers Vidharth and Amala Paul play the lead roles. Produced by John Max for Salam Studios, the movie has cinematography M Sukumar and art direction by Vairabalan.
