Looks like it’s the period of director Saran’s associates to turn directors. Saran’s foremost associate Kavin Bala alias Balamurugan is now directing ‘Kanagavel Kakka’. Then Saran’s another assistant Babu.K.Vishwanath alias Thiruvarur Babu is busy churning his debut venture ‘Kandha’.

An interesting thing is that these two freshers have chosen Karan as their hero. It’s actually spicy to note that their mentor Saran had given a break to hero Karan through an anti-hero role in his ‘Kadhal Mannan’. Karan is known for giving chance to new director, plus as Babu.K.Vishwanath and Kavin Bala are Saran’s assistants the hero must have had a soft corner for them both.

Sources close to Saran revealed that, Babu.K.Vishwanath was earlier a short-story writer. He had written more than 200 short-stories under the pen-name Thiruvarur Babu. Not only this, Babu.K.Vishwanath had worked as a film journalist in Thamizhan Express for many years. It’s heard that he is telling a story of a student and a teacher living in Thanjavur, with an action backdrop through his ‘Kandha’. The director has imported a Keralite beauty named Mithra as the jodi for Karan. Now Babu.K.Vishwanath is busy with the post production works after completing the film without much noise.

On the other hand, Saran’s another assistant Venkatesh has turned director recently through an untitled flick, which he is directing with fresh faces.
