Ajith starrer 'Asal' is being shaped up in a brisk way. If everything goes as planned, the movie would even hit the screens this Pongal, say circles close to director Saran.

Fourth in the line from the Saran-Ajith duo (after 'Kadhal Mannan', 'Amarkalam' and 'Attagasam') is Asal, a movie produced by Sivaji Films, one of the reputed production houses in Tamil industry.

Speaking about the film, Saran says, "Asal will be an authentic 'Thala' film and genuine commercial film. Hence the title. It will be a glossy mass entertainer, with all necessary ingredients that an Ajith film need."

Ajith, who of late believes in making his films to do the talking, says, “The script is so interesting. Equally is the making of Saran. We all are putting our best efforts to make ‘Asal’ a thorough entertainer.”

Currently, the movie’s team is busy shooting scenes in one of the city’s posh apartments. The team had recently returned to Chennai from a tiring Europe shoot; however, once in the city, they got into the remaining schedule right away. It is said that few important scenes will be shot in the AVM Studios.
