Nila’s answer is a big no while responding to reports that she would soon bid adieu to cinema. The actress, one of the organisers of the Chennai International Fashion Week (CIFW) which is currently underway, says she would continue her acting profession.

“I have not bid bye to acting. I will continue to do both- fashion shows and films,” she says and adds: “However meaty offers should knock my door. I don’t want to be a mere glamdoll.”

On her passion for fashion and the reason behind being one of the organisers of the CIFW, she says, “it was my desire to involve myself with Gaurav Sharma, producer, CIFW. Also, right from my college days, I am interested in fashion.”

On the event, she says, “Though Tamil Nadu is one of the biggest players in the entertainment arena, it is lagging behind as far as fashion industry is concerned. Hence we thought it would be appropriate to hold such a grand event in Chennai.”

“It took four months of hard work to bring together the who’s who of the industry under one roof. Designers not just from the country but also from abroad besides personalities from film industry and beauty pageants will participate. We are slated to perform a similar show in Colombo next year,” she adds.
