Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was all praise for lyricist Pa Vijay for the interest he showed on the World Classical Tamil Conference, to be held in Coimbatore from June 23 to 27, 2010.

In an epistle to party cadres from Chennai on Sunday, he said, “I was mightily impressed when Vijay came to me a couple of days ago and showed designs he created with the help of a painter to decorate the Tamil conference venue.”

“The lyricist had beautifully prepared many designs, right from the entrance of the venue to the front cover of the conference souvenir, which surprised me a lot. The interest he is showing on the successful conduct of the event is great,” the Chief Minister said.

Karunanidhi added: “Hence I immediately decided to utilise the services of Vijay for the World Classical Tamil Conference. People like Pa Vijay gives me confidence that the meet would become a grand success.”

The Tamil Nadu government has constituted various committees in view of the international meet. A couple of days ago, an official release said actor Sarath Kumar has been appointed member of one such committee.
