After producers Udhayanidhi Stalin and Dayanidhi Alagiri, both grandsons of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, here comes one more entrant to Tamil cinema from the first family of the State.

He is Arulnithi Thamizharasu, son of Karunanidhi’s youngest son M K Thamizharasu, who produced ‘Gopura Vasalile’ almost two decades ago. Following the footsteps of his uncles M K Muthu and M K Stalin who have acted in lead roles in the past, Arulnithi will test waters as an actor in a movie to be directed by Pandiraj of ‘Pasanga’ fame.

On Thursday, Arulnithi, along with Pandiraj and father Thamizharasu, the producer of the movie, called on grandfather Karunanidhi and sought his blessings. The Chief Minister’s wife Dayalu Ammal, music composer of the film Thaj Noor and cinematographer Mahesh Muthusami were also present.

“Shooting for the film is scheduled to kick off on February 10,” Pandiraj says and adds: “The yet-to-be-named movie has a village-oriented story line. I am happy that they (Thamizharasu and Arulnithi) selected me to direct the film.”
