Kollywood is refusing to think original. Or that’s what it looks. As if remix songs are not enough now cut throat competitions are raging even for remaking rights of films. The most sought after films for remaking are of the super stars MGR and Rajini.

Sundar C who is doing the remake of Rajini’s ‘Murattukalai’ is again in competition with none other than Silambarasan for the remake rights of the ever green gold mine ‘Ulagam Sutrum Valiban’ produced and directed by MGR in the seventies.

Sundar C had already come public announcing his interest in remaking the cult hit of MGR. He said he will do it after ‘Thee’. But the negotiations with the owners of ‘Ulagam Sutrum Valiban’ prolonged and he could not follow it. But now Silambarasan has also thrown his hat in the ring and is said to be ready to offer 60 lakhs for the rights. The party has conveyed Silambarasan's offer to Sunder. C and is interested to give it to Sunder C. as he was the first applicant but provided he pays as much as Silambarasan.

The issue is still on and the countdown has already started.
