Even as his party workers are eagerly expecting the result of Pennagaram bypoll, actor and DMDK president Vijayakanth has predicted that his directorial debut ‘Virudhagiri’ will become a hit.

Speaking at the audio launch of ‘Goripalayam’, a film directed by Rasu Madhuravan and produced by Vijayakanth’s close associate Michael Rayappan, in Chennai Saturday night, the actor-politician said ‘Virudhagiri’ will soon be released. “The film will sure emerge triumphant,” he said.

On ‘Goripalayam’, he said, “I know Rasu Madhuravan right from the days he was working as an associate to Manivannan. He is a hard worker. All films centred in Madurai have become hits. ‘Goripalayam’ too will prove it.”

Tamil Film Proudcers Council president Rama Narayanan, Distributors Association chief Kalaipuli G Sekaran, producer P L Thenappan, directors Perarasu, Cheran and Raj Kapoor, actor-choreographer Raghava Larencce and financier Anbuchezhian among others took part.
