“Producer A M Ratnam was owning the rights of ‘Vyjanthi IPS’ when I wanted to remake the film with Sneha in the lead. When I approached him for the rights, he said he was planning to start the movie with Nayanthara playing the lead role,” said director Kicha.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai Saturday, the director, who is now ready with the blockbuster’s remake ‘Bhavani’, said, “But I asked him to sell me the remake rights saying making cop stories is my passion. And he paid heed to my request thankfully.”

Stating that he is planning to release the film in July, Kicha added: “Sneha has done a wonderful job. Audience would get to know a new face of her once the film hits the screen. She would inspire many women to face hurdles without any fear.”

“Sneha is a synonym to smile. But hardly had the actress smiled in Bhavani. Since the movie is action-based and fast-paced, there are no scenes which required her to smile. It is a gripping entertainer,” he said.
