The Tamil Nadu government, which has been extending a slew of measures for the benefit of the film industry, has formed a selection committee to decide on film awards for the years 2009 and 2010. According to an official release, the panel, which will recommend to the government the names of awardees and award winning movies, will be chaired by retired judge S Mohan. Names of other members of the panel have also been released. It included Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan, film directors Amirtham, K Bhagyaraj, actors Chandrasekar, Sivakumar and Charuhasan and actress Khushboo. Since there are just four months left for the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, it is expected that the panel would come out with the awardees list at the earliest and a function would be organised to distribute awards.
