Actor Jeeva on Wednesday lodged a complaint with Chennai city Commissioner of Police T Rajendran seeking action against the sale of pirated DVDs of his recent-release ‘Singam Puli’.

Accompanied by director of the film Sai Ramani and others, the actor called on the top police officer of the city on Wednesday morning and made the complaint, requesting immediate action against culprits.

Talking to journalists later, he said, “The actors, director and technicians work day and night for a film. But those indulging in piracy make money using cheap methods. They download the movies online and make VCD, DVD copies of the same.”

“It is unfortunate that within three days of its release, pirated DVDs of 'Singam Puli' are being sold at throwaway prices in markets. Hence I am here to request the authorities concerned to take appropriate action and put an end to the piracy menace,” he added.
