UTV Motion Pictures has acquired all the rights for the film Muran that will star Cheran, Prasanna, Haripriya, Nikhita in the lead roles. The music will be scored by Sajjan Madhav and the film will be produced by Cheran’s Dream Theatres. The script for the film will be written and the movie will be directed by Rajan Madhav (an associate of Myshkin of Yudham Sei fame). Cheran has rendered quite a different image of himself in Yudham Sei which was definitely welcomed by audience of all classes; we’ll have to wait to see if Muran would be quite on the same note as well…

Nearly 70% of the film has been completed and after watching the updated version, a source at UTV says that they were more than delighted to acquire all the rights of film and they are confident that it will be one of the finest action thrillers ever in Tamil cinema! UTV is planning to release the movie by June 2011…

This will be UTV’s first tamil flick in 2011, which will be shortly followed by another movie directed by Selvaraghavan, featuring Dhanush, Andrea and a few others, and is tentatively titled ‘Erandam Ulagam.’
