Having played soft characters in films such as 'Pathinaru' and 'Avan Ivan', Madhu Shalini is donning a whole new avatar in her Bollywood debut. Remember IG had earlier reported that the star will be making her debut in Hindi films this year? It's now official.
Madhu Shalini has signed a film with Ram Gopal Varma, aka RGV, and the film bears the title 'Department'. Speaking on the film, Madhu Shalini expressed, "The film is set against the police and underworld nexus. It will be more like a final part to RGV's earlier films like Satya and Company. It's pretty much unconventional, in the sense it's not about a hero, heroine, villain film but does away from those usual flicks".

Madhu Shalini plays a gangster in this multi-starrer and shares screen space with stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Rana Daggubatti in 'Department'.
Speaking on her role she further added, 'My character is highly daring and the gangster I play accepts no obstacles. She can be extremes, depending on how people treat her and get dangerous if people get on her way."
The film will go on floors in the first week of September will see an early 2012 release. "I am excited about the film and the role I play as I haven't done such films before nor have seen such a character on-screen", she signs off.
