Ramya aka Divya Spandana on Monday filed nominations to contest booth-level elections of the Karnataka Youth Congress, from Shantinagar constituency to be held between September 16 and 21.

The actress, who is a close relative to External Affairs Minister and senior Congress leader SM Krishna, will become a delegate member if she wins the polls. She will be eligible to contest for the post of State Youth Congress president.

The election in about 30,000 booths would be held in phases from September 16 to 21. Ramya's fate at the booth level would be decided on September 16, when the booth from where she is contesting goes to the polls. The result will be announced the same day.

"As part of the Youth Congress, I am looking at making use of this platform to serve the people and make a difference to society. I would like to do all that I possibly can to bring forth issues and concerns of the people in the area and bring about positive change," she says.
