'Osthi' producer Ramesh is worried about the cinema projector quality in the city. Despite movies being produced by shelving crores and with efforts from world class technicians, most of the cinema halls lack quality projectors and this makes audience watch low quality picture on screen, laments the producer.

"The audience is not just forced to watch low quality picture, but their eyes and ears are facing health hazards because of such projectors. We are planning to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Honourable Ms J Jayalalithaa to seek her intervention in this regard and we have given a letter for her appointment", he further added.

Ramesh who had produced Dhanush's 'Uthamaputhiran' is now making 'Osthi' with Simbu in a grand scale, he further said that there are prescribed norms for projectors to be installed in theatres.

"Cinema halls should install projectors of 4k quality". In India too there are rules and regulations regarding film screening. Maximum number of cinema halls has projectors with less than 1k quality.

"We are seriously planning to take the issue to the notice of Chief Minister Ms J Jayalalithaa. Also, we wonder why industry veterans, especially those in organizations like FICCI, are maintaining silence over the issue. To protect the interests of the audience, rules should be strictly implemented in cinema halls", he concluded.
