'Thupakki' opens big

Vijay's Deepavali special 'Thupakki' opened big in theatres all over Tamil Nadu this morning.

The Ilaya Thalapathi's fans celebrated the movie's release by bursting fire crackers, distributing sweets and performing 'paal abhishekam' to the matinee idol's hoardings.

If trade sources are to be believed, the film saw simultaneous release in over 1,500 screens across the world.

"The opening is amazing," they added. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, the flick directed by A R Murugadoss has music by Harris Jayaraj. Kajal Agarwal is the heroine.
